No one knew what was happening when the first snow flakes fell and the flowers began to wilt.

At first Gods and Mortals alike reveled in the strange weather, letting the snow collect on their faces and tongues. They delighted in the thrill of a cold wind kissing bare flesh.

However, Mortals soon came to miss the delicate flowers and the warm winds on lazy afternoons. Even the Gods grew weary of this new state. Ares raged that he could not conduct his wars with swords too cold to grasp. Neptune stood in disbelief when the oceans froze over in great sheets of ice. Even Aphrodite was frustrated that amorous couples could not express their love under the heavens.

Aware that he could no longer allow this to continue, Zeus, chief among the Gods, sent out his speediest messenger, Mercury to divine the source of this problem.

Mercury roamed far and wide, plumbing the deepest caves and flying above the highest mountains, until he came upon Demeter, who was crying in a field. Sitting with her, Mercury managed to get her story.

He found out that Hades had risen up from the Underworld and had abducted Demeter's daughter, taking her back to his realm. In her grief, she had cursed the world, and so it would remain until her daughter was returned to her.

Zeus, upon hearing this sad tale, called upon the Cthonians. Loath to trespass in his brother's domain, he called these Gods of the Underworld to serve as his agents, promising them a place among the stars should they succeed. He charged them with finding Persephone and returning her to the surface, lest the world become buried in snow.

Hades and Persephone is a board game where players take the roles of the Cthonians in their quest to find Hades and Persephone and spirit the girl away to safety before the world becomes permanently locked in the grip of winter. Play one of the infamous Furies, Charon, or even Cerebus, taking advantage of their unique abilities to navigate the Underworld and overcome the obstacles that threaten even these fell lords. Finding Persephone, and making off with her is only the beginning of your troubles. Hades has taken quite a shine to the girl, and will not let her escape quite so easily. Completing all of this before time runs out requires skill, strategy, cooperation and no small amount of luck!

Hades and Persephone is a game of Greek Gods and a love that threatens the world for 2-6 players.
